News : UNKLE Union Chapel / Dec 08

It's been our massive privilege to have spent the last two weeks working with Warren Du Preez and Nick Thornton-Jones on a rather special project for UNKLE.

Last night saw the band come together with the Heritage Orchestra to perform a one-off show at the Union Chapel in Islington to launch their new album 'End Titles... Redux'. It was a really beautiful event, amazing to hear some classic UNKLE tunes re-imagined by a full orchestra - but the highlight for us was the lighting installation designed and directed by Warren and Nick.

They are pioneers in this field, having produced a remarkable light installation (the first of it's kind) for Alexander McQueen earlier this year, so it was really quite exciting to get the chance to spend two weeks in their studio working with them on this show.

They had designed a 7ft by 7ft diamond structure made from Versa Tubes which was suspended from the ceiling above the orchestra and provided the main source of light for the show.

We had to build a map of the structure and then design the visuals for the specific shape of the installation. Working through hours of material we created unique visuals for each song.

It was an incredible experience to work with two such creative folk and have been part (even in a small way) of such a unique event.

Thanks to photographer Rosie Reed Gold for letting us use these images from the night.
